  1. Hey Meg - I like No 3 on this sheet, because I can already see how this machine might move about a bit like a crab or a spider - it's got definite personality :)

  6. Hey Megan, welcome to the UCA CG Arts and Animation community!
I'm Steven, a third year student, and I'm going to be your mentor during your time on the course.

I'm here to help, so if you are ever in any doubt, don't hesitate to come and find me, whatever the problem. Whether it be developing ideas, technical challenges in Maya or you simply want a chat, work or otherwise, get in touch and I'll do my best to point you in the right direction!

You can contact me either through my blog (stevenpayneuca.blogspot.com), directly through email (s.b.payne@hotmail.co.uk) or in person (I'm typically around the baseroom most days of the week).

Before the ball gets rolling, it wouldn't a bad idea to really personalise your blog and refine things a bit. You'll be spending a lot of time here, as will the rest of us, so you'll want to make it as professional as you can whilst still providing accurate representation of your personality. Have a rummage around some of the second and third year blogs to gather up some inspiration and renovate the place before things properly kick off. Don't worry if its not 100% sorted when you get started next week, it'll develop over time. I didn't manage to get mine sorted to an acceptable degree until halfway through my first year!

I look forward to seeing the evolution of your projects over the coming weeks, and I will properly introduce myself in person when we finally get to meet the new gang at the end of the week!

Good luck, and keep those posts coming!

    1. Hi Steven! Thanks for the tips. Yeah I have seen some really good looking blogs about and it's not that i don't want to make mine look as good as theirs, i'm just not quite sure how at the moment! Maybe i'll try again in couple of weeks when I know a bit more technical stuff haha...

Will put some more drawings up later :)
